Come enjoy an evening of tributes to Lou Colombo and Louis Prima. Lori Colombo (vocals) is the daughter of the renowned jazz trumpeter Lou Colombo (1927 - 2012) and presents a tribute to her father who appeared at the Provincetown Jazz Festival in 2007. Lori returned to her home on Cape Cod in 2006 from California where she performed with Billie Holiday’s West Coast Band and opened for Windham Hill artist, George Winston, at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Lori has performed at local restaurants, concerts and events throughout New England and has opened for the Boston Pops and appeared at Summer Jazz Series at Chatham’s Wequassett Resort and the Provincetown Jazz Festival. Lori is fluent in Italian and while residing in Italy recorded with producer Franco Migliacci, best known for his hit “Volare.” Steeped musically in the tradition of the Jazz classics, Lori’s first love is the Great American Songbook and American Standards. Lori will be accompanied by the Cape Cod Jazz Quartet with Steve Ahern on trumpet, Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. The concert opens with a Louis Prima Tribute, a salute to “The King of Swing” with Steve Ahern on trumpet, Dennis Flaherty on vocals & Matt Hutchinson on piano who are both making their festival debuts, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.
