Summer fun for everyone!

After a day at the beach, you might want to check out Cape Cod’s rich entertainment scene, including concerts, cultural events and plays. Theaters on the Cape are cozy and intimate, allowing excellent views from every seat.

The Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis brings well-known entertainers to the Cape every summer. In this covered outdoor bowl, no one sits more than 50 feet from the stage. Call 1(800)347-0808 for more information.

The Cape Playhouse in Dennis is America’s oldest and most famous summer theater with alumni like Henry Fonda, Betty Davis and Clark Gable. The vintage theatre (est. 1927) runs nostalgic musicals, comedies, dramas and children’s programs. Call (508)385-3911 for more information.

Harwich Junior Theater offers professionally taught classes for children in acting, set construction, sound and dance. Their performances draw audiences of all ages. Call (508)432-2002 for more information.

The Monomoy Theatre in Chatham is open in the summertime and features graduate students from Ohio University performing big stage and musical hits. Call (508)945-1589 for reservations.

Wellfleet Preservation Hall is open year round and located in the town center of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. This lively community center features musical or performance art, literature or exercise classes, programs and exhibits, Chamber Music ensembles and the world renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band of New Orleans and other community events. Summer Town Band concerts are a Cape Cod tradition and can be found anywhere from gazebos to ballparks in almost every village. These outdoor performances sometimes include sing-a-longs. They draw a loyal annual local and tourist following.

Cape Cod Baseball League – 10 teams play scheduled games between Falmouth and Orleans
Kayaking – private tours and rentals are available throughout Cape Cod
Golf – several public courses
Tennis – public courts: Willy’s Gym, Eastham; Eldredge Parkway town courts, Orleans
Biking – Cape Cod Rail Trail is a paved bikeway stretching from Wellfleet to Yarmouth with several parking and access points
Sailing – Namequoit Sailing Association offers great Junior sailing courses throughout the summer!
